Price and timing
How is the price determined?
We can give an estimate for a standard job before visiting and confirm the final price after inspection. Inspection and measurement in Novi Sad cost RSD 1,500; visits to nearby towns are priced separately. If you go ahead with the work, this amount is credited towards the total.

The price depends on the area, the condition of the parquet, repairs and the varnish selected. After inspection, we give a total price with a written list of what is included and what is charged separately. You know exactly what has been agreed before work begins.

We agree the schedule after inspection, taking the area, necessary repairs and drying time into account. We confirm separately when work will finish and when the floor can be used. If anything could extend the job, we explain why and propose a revised plan.

Contact us as soon as you know your plans so we can check availability. We confirm the date after inspecting the space and agreeing the scope of work.

We take on smaller jobs when they fit our schedule or other work. Tell us what is needed and where the property is, and we will check whether we can visit. We cannot guarantee an urgent visit.

What should I send for an initial estimate?
The location, approximate area and a short description of what you want done are enough. If photos would help us understand the floor's condition, we will ask for them during the conversation.
Link to this answer ↗What should I prepare before you arrive?
The room must be empty before work starts. We agree in advance how to handle fitted wardrobes, kitchens and other fixed elements. We also check whether the skirting can stay or should be replaced.
Link to this answer ↗Does the furniture have to be removed?
Yes. The room where we work on the floor must be empty. You arrange for the furniture to be removed; we assess fixed elements before starting.
Link to this answer ↗Can we stay in the apartment during the work?
The area being treated should not be used during the work or the required drying period. If you plan to stay in another part of the apartment, tell us before we start so we can agree access and the order of work.
Link to this answer ↗How do you protect the space and clean up afterwards?
We protect the agreed areas, vacuum the floor between stages and remove waste from our work. We take care around access routes, noise and shared parts of the building.
Link to this answer ↗Who carries out the inspection and manages the work?
We organise the team around the job. You receive the name and contact details of the person responsible before work starts.
Link to this answer ↗Do I need to be present during the work?
No. If you leave us the keys, we agree access to the property and how to return them. We keep you informed about the important stages as work progresses.
Link to this answer ↗Should parquet work or painting come first?
We plan parquet work before the final painting, as fine dust or minor marks on walls can occur. When we finish, we explain how to protect the floor while other tradespeople work.
Link to this answer ↗What does the final inspection involve?
We first check the surface and finishing details, then review the completed work with you and discuss any concerns. We also explain when and how you can use the floor.

Can my parquet be restored?
We check the wood's condition, remaining thickness, adhesion to the subfloor and signs of moisture during inspection. We then explain what can be restored, what needs replacing and what result you can expect.
Link to this answer ↗How many times can parquet be sanded?
There is no single number for every parquet floor. For a known type, we can offer a rough assessment, but before starting we check how much wood remains and whether it can be sanded again.
Link to this answer ↗Can just the damaged blocks be replaced?
With traditional parquet, we replace blocks as part of restoring the whole room for a more even finish. With prefinished flooring, it may be possible to replace only the damaged board without restoring the entire floor. We check this on site.
Link to this answer ↗Will sanding fix gaps and squeaking?
We assess gaps, movement and squeaking on site. Some gaps can be treated during restoration, while movement and squeaking need separate repairs. Before starting, we explain what can be fixed and what limitations remain.

We must first inspect parquet affected by flooding, dark stains or deep damage. We take on the repair only after agreeing with you what is feasible and what result can be expected.

Our sanding machines use bags and vacuum extraction, so most sawdust is collected as we work. Some fine dust still remains. We vacuum between stages and remove waste from our work when finished.
Link to this answer ↗Can parquet be varnished without sanding back to bare wood?
It can be refreshed by buffing and varnishing if there is no major damage and the existing finish has not worn through to the wood. We inspect the floor before deciding whether this is enough.
Link to this answer ↗Which varnish should I choose?
We use polyurethane and water-based varnishes. We recommend products we already work with and explain what to expect from them. Together we agree the product and finish: matt, satin or gloss.
Link to this answer ↗How many coats of varnish do you apply?
Our standard system is three coats: a primer and two finishing coats. An additional finishing coat can be applied by agreement.

Yes, after sanding back to clean wood. Oak takes stain well. We first show the shade in a less visible spot before treating the entire floor. You choose and purchase the stain.

The timing depends on the varnish and drying conditions. We give instructions for your specific floor, including when you can walk on it and when it is ready for normal use.
